Racing Colours

From the earliest days of motor racing, racing livery has been a way of identifying teams or countries.  From basic solid colour schemes to complex corporate patterns the variation is huge.  The racing colours started out as standard colours to represent the country the competitor or team was from, France was represented by blue, Belgium by yellow, Italy by red, Germany by white (or later silver) and finally the famous British Racing Green.  These colour schemes mostly disappeared from 1968 when sponsors’ livery was allowed in international racing, this introduced some of the more memorable and iconic racing colours still famous today.   In the next few posts I’ll cover some of my favourites from racing history to present day.
