So having taken the plunge on my first solo camping adventure in the MGB GT I bought a whole load of stuff (cheap) but seemed to do the job. So whilst this isn’t the best stuff you can buy I had no complaints given what I spent and I had a very comfortable night camping.
What | Where | Cost | Comment |
---|---|---|---|
Naturehike Pop Up Tent (3 person) | Amazon | £89 | Not sure about 3 persons but easy to put up and down and seemed to be a well made tent for the money |
WolfWise Pop Up Toilet Tent | Amazon | £50 | Easy to put up and down, this had the optional rain cover and floor |
REDCAMP 180x210cm Large Waterproof Ground Sheet | Amazon | £12 | |
TREKOLOGY Portable Camping Table | Amazon | £25 | Great little fold out table but surface is slippery! Consider some sort of rubber mat for cups of tea! |
Odoland 16pcs Camping Cookware | Amazon | £34 | Great set! Included mini stove which was very useful |
BISINNA Sleeping Bag with Pillow | Amazon | £38 | Not sure about 4 season but was fine in cold-ish weather and comfy |
Deeplee Camping Mat | Amazon | £27 | More comfortable than it looks, not sure how durable it is though, was fine for the one night |
Terra Hiker Portable Camping Gas Stove | Amazon | £20 | Great little fold out stove, seems well made |
Thetford Porta Potti 345 Portable Toilet | Amazon | £55 | Great little compact toilet, very convenient, wouldn’t recommend dropping ‘number 2’s since it makes emptying it worse by a factor of 10. |
Zone Tech Car Roof Cargo Bag | Amazon | £50 | Used on roof rack to keep things dry, worked well but not tried it directly on a roof. |
Vinclus Portable Camping Fire Pit | Amazon | £15 | Cheap but worked better than expected, I used heat-logs on it but would go for hardwood next time |
There’s a whole load of other stuff I’ve not listed as they are pretty much standard items but other things I bought were: camping soap, first aid kit, hot water bottle, gas canisters (Coleman C300), organic toilet fluid, water container, camping stool and various stackable storage boxes from Wilkos.
I also had a coolbox and roof rack already, the coolbox was too big but was decent (made by Coleman) and roof rack was an eBay jobby.
